| Saturday, December 20, 2008 Y 11:15 AM Xin Chao! im back from Vietnam, Ho Chi Minh. i cant say its fun or its boring, but it's just nice. the weather there is very hot, and there are so many mosquitoes around. day 1- free and easy. so we went shopping at An Dong Plaza. we had so much difficulty finding the place. but the things there are cheap. branded goods. haha. day 2- mekong delta. we went to their fruit farm.  performance while enjoying our fruits. see her clothes so transparent.  making of the coconut candy.  haha. trying to carry their heacy fruit baskets.  lunch, we had dinosaur egg and 包鱼.  on the way, can see locals selling chickens on the streets.  had a ride on the mekong river. see that 4 guys behind, they are so independent, only 18 and travel overseas without their parents. haha. would my mother allow me to do so?   the river actually is very dirty.  one of their temples...  government house.  notre dame cathedral  saigon old post office  Day 3- Vung Tau a nice beach resort.  Jesus Monument. we climbed 811 steps to the top!   nice view from the top!  hahaha! see it's so windy.   Summer Palace of Emperor Bao Dai  the emperor's bed.    the largest whale's skeleton. it's really huge. then we had a ride around Vung Tau. it was interesting.    Day 4- back at Ho Chi Minh City  my first time viewing the sunrise. it's beautiful! Vietnam is 1 hr behind Spore.   Cu Chi Tunnels. a strategic fort used by the Viet Kong guerrillas during the Vietnam War.  he managed to fit in the small hole!  it leads to the tunnel. i also tried crawling 15 metre of the tunnel. it was so short and i had to bend. it was damn tiring. if anybody were to fart, all will be dead. Shopping at Ben Thanh Market. u can bargain for branded clothings at cheap prices. but u wont noe if it is imitations. nobody cares. haha.  Dinner by the Saigon River.  our whole group tour, can spot me... im far at the end.  some other pics...  their bus stop.  their lamp post. looks antique.  they travel by motorcycles. they seldom walk. if u try to cross the road, do make some noise. bikes dun stop for ppl to cross, but ppl stop for bikes to cross even at zebra crossings.  locals eat by the roadsides.  their way of drinking coffee. it takes ages to make 1 cup.   see their currency. they should jus remove the zeros. it makes payment so difficult. 100000 dong= S$10.  our bus driver.  our tour guide.  bye! and we are back in Spore. we mus be contented and grateful to be in Spore. =) | colourful
